Indian Army signed MoU with SIDM

Current Context: Indian Army has signed MoU with Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM).

• The MoU was signed to boost indigenisation and innovation.
• MoU was signed with an aim of Aatmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and to reduce the dependency on foreign manufactured defence equipment and technologies.
• The MoU was signed on the occasion of 25 years of Army-Industry Partnership with CII. The SIDM, which is the company of CII organised the seminar to mark the occasion.
• The seminar was virtually addressed by MM Naravane, Chief of the Army Staff.
