Current Context: The Textiles Committee of Ministry of Textiles signed MoU with Japan’s Nissenken Quality Evaluation Centre.
Textiles Committee Signed MoU with Nissenken Quality Evaluation Centre
  • The MoU was signed to boost the export of Textile and Apparel to Japan.
  • The partnership will help textile industries to fit the Japanese quality standards by jointly performing testing, inspection and conformity assessment.
  • The partnership will also help to impart training sessions, R&D and capacity building in the textile sector.
  • Both India and Japan have assured each other to share data of technical information and documentation allied to the textile sector.
  • Both the nations have decided to facilitate sourcing across Textiles Value Chain (TVC) from both ends.
  • The MoU agreement was signed via video conference by textiles minister Smriti Irani and Yasumasa Nagasaka, Japanese state minister of economy, trade and industry.
