• The theme for 11th World Petro Coal Congress: ‘Petroleum-Coal-Gas: Towards a Win-Win Strategy for Producer and Consumer’.
• Union Minister addressed the joint conference by highlighting that India aims to create a global energy justice model by maintaining balance in accessibility and affordability of energy.
• He mentioned that India will draft its own strategies and roadmap to achieve the green energy transition.
• He also mentioned the increase in LPG coverage from 56% to around 99.5% in less than 7 years. To reduce vehicular air pollution, the country adopted a transition from BS4 to BS6 emission standards from April 2020.
• He discussed the investment of USD 60 billion in developing gas infrastructures like pipelines, city gas distribution and LNG regasification terminals.
