Defence Minister inaugurated 57000 Water Structures in MP

Current Context: The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated more than 57,000 water structures in Madhya Pradesh.

• The water structures were inaugurated under the ‘Jalabhishekam Campaign’.
• The water structures were inaugurated with an aim to conserve water and to have a water management strategy.
• The 57000 water structures are built at a cost of Rs 2,000 crores.
• They are inaugurated under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Irrigation Scheme.
• The water structures will provide water supply for irrigation activity in farms of the state.
• The ‘Jalabhishekam Campaign’ aims to conserve the water and make MP a self-reliant state.
• The campaign will fulfil to moto of providing water to every farm and will work for every hand, thus to support villages of the state.
