WHO SEARO signed Pact with Ministry of AYUSH

Current Context: The World Health Organization South-East Asia Regional Office (WHO SEARO) has entered into a Letter of Exchange (LoE) with Ministry of AYUSH.

• The LoE was signed with an aim of deputation of an expert of AYUSH to WHO’s regional traditional medicine programme in New Delhi.
• The expert from AYUSH will guide WHO SEARO to implement regional traditional medicine action plan by using safe traditional medicine services.
• Both the entities will also work to launch a public health research report on COVID-19.
• AYUSH Ministry and WHO SEARO will work to boost the capacities of SEAR Nations in the traditional medicine sector.
• They will also jointly frame policies and regulations for traditional medicine sector.
