11th India Chem 2021

Current Context: The 11th edition of India Chem 2021 was inaugurated by Union Minister Sadananda Gowda.

• The India Chem is the biennial International Exhibiting and Conference.
• It was jointly organised by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, GOI and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
• The theme for 2021: ‘India: Global Manufacturing Hub for Chemicals and Petrochemicals’.
• It was organised to explore and enhance investment in the Chemicals and Petrochemical sectors of India.
• Various events like Global CEOs round table, conclaves related to the chemicals industry, petrochemical industry, global agrochemical industry, capital goods and plant machinery were held at the conference.
• Also, India-Japan Chemical and Petrochemical Forum, India-EU Chemical and Petrochemical Forum and India-US Chemical and Petrochemical Forum were conducted.
• Union Minister also highlighted that an investment of Rs 8 lakh crore in the Chemical and Petrochemical sector of India will be made by 2025.
