Analytical High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope Laboratory.
- He inaugurated both the centre and lab during his visit to CSIR-AMPRI, Bhopal.
- He laid the foundation stone for CSIR-AMPRI Bamboo Composite Structure.
- While addressing the programme, he congratulated CSIR-AMPRI for adopting the ‘Waste to Wealth’ strategy by developing radiation shielding materials utilizing industrial wastes as raw materials.
- He mentioned that the institute has adopted lead-free and highly effective shielding materials specifically from industrial waste like red mud and fly ash.
- The shielding materials can be used for the construction of X-ray diagnostic and CT scanner rooms.
- Various developments will take place because of the Centre for Advanced Radiation Shielding and Geopolymeric Materials. Some of the developments like, Geopolymeric Bullet Proof Concrete for Bunkers, Graphene-Induced Geopolymeric Concrete and Geopolymeric Radiation Shielding Concrete will take place.
- The centre will also enhance the skill knowledge in the process of Radiation Shielding and will lead to development in engineering properties of developed materials.
- The Analytical High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope Laboratory is equipped with Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (STEM) which is having High-Angle Annular Dark Field Detector (HAADF), Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS), Ultrasonic disc cutter, Dimple grinder etc. The lab will allow performing microanalysis to the experts.
