IATA Partnered with Standard Chartered Bank

Published on March 19, 2021
Current Context: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has entered into a partnership with Standard Chartered Bank (StanC).
  • Under this partnership, StanC is mandated by IATA to manage the payment flow within the aviation ecosystem under EasyPay.
  • Therefore, IATA has appointed StanC as one of its IATA EasyPay service providers in India which will provide greater payment flexibility to travel agents
  • The API based EasyPay grants a secure way to the traditional billing mechanism. The EasyPay is based on 'pay-as-you-go'
  • The EasyPay will identify the travel agents who perform payments in a dedicated IATA EasyPay account with StanC and release the tickets to the agents in real-time
  • Thus, this partnership will boost the digitization of payments in India
  • Static Part:
    • HQ of IATA: Montreal, Canada
