- The MoU was signed to get support for track works in the 237-km stretch between Vadodara and Vapi in Gujarat for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR), which is the bullet train project of India.
- Under this MoU, JRTC will design the HSR track components like RC track bed, track slab arrangement and continuous welded rail (CWR) forces for the project.
- The MoU will also enhance the cooperation between India and Japan.
- This partnership will allow the transfer of Japan’s high-speed rail system technology to India.
- The total outlay for MAHSR, i.e. India’s first bullet train project is Rs 1.08 lakh crore. And NHSRCL is an implementing organisation for the same.
