UPFPO Shakti Portal

Current Context: The government of Uttar Pradesh launched UPFPO (Uttar Pradesh Farmer Producer Organisation) Shakti portal. It was launched by the CM of the state, Yogi Adityanath.

• The portal is part of the Kisan Kalyan Mission in Gorakhpur and is the first of its kind in India.
• The UPFPO Shakti portal will prove highly beneficial to farmers at the grassroots level. It will grant a single platform for farmers, producer groups, traders and the agriculture and other allied departments of the state.
• The portal is developed by the Department of Agriculture of the state with technical and funding support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
• The portal will help farmers to enhance their business base, reduce their dependencies of income from madis only by giving them a platform for national and international trade.
• The farmers will be able to download the necessary documents required to form the organizations directly from the portal.
