Current Context: The National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) of the AYUSH Ministry has signed an MoU with the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
AYUSH Ministry Signed MoU with Dept. of Animal Husbandry
  • The MoU was signed to develop a regulatory mechanism to make usage of Ayurveda in the veterinary sector in order to provide the benefit of animal health, livestock owners’ community and society.
  • The partnership will also focus on developing capacity building in the sector through training and herbal veterinary education programmes.
  • They will explore the markets for herbal veterinary medicines. Also, a proper mechanism for the cultivation, preservation and conservation of medicinal plants will be adopted.
  • The entities will conduct scientific research in partnership with veterinary colleges and ICAR institutes to test the medicinal plants on animals.
