DRDO Conducted Trail of Python 5 AAM

Current Context: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted the maiden trial of the 5th generation Python-5 Air-to-Air Missile (AAM).

• The trials were conducted from Tejas Aircraft.
• The test-firing operations were held at Goa with a series of missile trails in order to evaluate the performance under extreme operational scenarios.
• The Python 5 AAM is built by the Israeli weapon manufacturer Rafael Advanced Defence Systems.
