India-Netherland Virtual Summit 2021

Current Context: The India- Netherland Summit 2021 was held virtually and was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Netherland Mark Rutte.

• The meeting was held to discuss trade, economy, water management, agriculture sector, science and technology, healthcare and space.
• They discussed the issues of climate change, terrorism and Pandemic COVID-19 along with the ways to tackle them.
• The dignitaries agreed to make use of emerging convergences in areas like Indo-Pacific, Resilient Supply Chains and Global Digital Governance.
• They also decided to set up ‘Strategic Partnership on Water’ and ‘Fast Track Mechanism to promote bilateral trade’ in order to boost cooperation between both nations in the water and trade sector.
