MoHUA signed MoU with IIT Kharagpur

Current Context: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has signed an MoU with IIT Kharagpur.

• The MoU has signed to set up an Accelerator Centre for R&D activities in the institute.
• The IIT Kharagpur will act as an incubation hub centre to perform technological innovations and develop products.
• The Accelerator Centre will be similar to the ‘ASHA-India’ Initiative of the central government.
• The ‘ASHA-India’ Initiative was launched by MoHUA under its Global Housing Technology Challenge India (GHTC-India.
• The ‘ASHA-India’ Initiative aims to adopt research and tech in the housing construction sector and allied areas.
