Current Context: The CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) launched ‘IGBC Mission on Net Zero’.

• The ‘IGBC Mission on Net Zero’ is launched to eradicate carbon emission from India.
• It aims to achieve net-zero carbon emission by 2050.
• Under this mission, around 250 leading firms from India’s building sector have announced their commitment to achieving the target.
• And thus to work to attain the objective, the leading organisations have decided to adopt phenomenal shifts in the way to source their power, manufacturing, transit and policy interventions.
