Current Context: The Union Cabinet has approved the
MoU between the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and the Administrative Council for Economic Defense of Brazil, (CADE).- As per the 18th Section of the Competition Act, 2002, CCI has the right to sign MoU with the agencies of foreign countries for the purpose of discharging its duties or performing its functions under the Act.
- The Union Cabinet also gave the approval to enter into Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between the Institute of Chartered Accounts of India (ICAI) and the CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) Australia. Both ICAI and CPA will work jointly to establish cooperation to frame advancements in the sectors of accounting knowledge, professional and intellectual development. They will work to develop their accounting structure.
