  • The e-GOPALA app (Generation of wealth through Productive Livestock) was integrated with the UMANG app (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance). The announcement for the same was made by the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Giriraj Singh.
  • GOI has brought forward the target to achieve 20% ethanol-blending with petrol to 2023 from 2025. This will help to reduce India's dependence on costly oil imports.

  • Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Steel Dharmendra Pradhan launched initiatives to enhance the SATAT scheme (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation). The initiatives are: (1) Cooperation in the agreements signed among oil and gas companies (2) Website for SATAT (3) MoU between MoPNG with GGGI (Global Green Growth Institute) and companies to establish CBG plants (4) Establishing 5 CBG plants (5) CBG-CGD synchronization

    • SATAT Scheme: It was launched to set up Compressed Bio-Gas production plants and make CBG available in the market for use as a green fuel. The scheme has set the target of producing 15 MMT of CBG from 5000 plants by 2023.
  • BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting: It was hosted by India and was chaired by Union Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. The dignitaries assured to cooperate in security, economic, finance, cultural exchanges etc. They also assured to strengthen the UN and its principal firms like WHO, WTO, IMF, World Bank and UN Security Council.
