- They have signed MoU to help India’s farmers by granting them location-specific Demand-based Tele Agricultural Advisories.
- The ‘Demand-based Tele Agricultural Advisories’ will be granted by integrating DIC’s Interactive Information Dissemination System (IIDS) with the Kisan Sarathi Program of ICAR.
- The system will be implemented through the network of ICAR so that it will benefit Indian farmers.
- Both DIC and ICAR will develop an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platform which will operate a multi-media and multi-way advisory communicable system which will support Agri based activities at every local level.
- All the technical support to build the system will be granted by DIC. The DIC will host and manage the platform.
- Initially, IIDS will be implemented at ICAR. Through IIDS farmers will be able to access data and experts will be able to access farmers’ data.
