SJVN Ltd signed MoU with NIWE

Current Context: The hydroelectric power generation organisation named SJVN Ltd has signed an MoU with the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE).

• The MoU was signed for the purpose of having ‘Technical Consultancy Services for development of Solar, Wind, Hybrid (Wind & Solar) and Hybrid (Wind, Solar & Battery Storage) Energy Projects of SJVN.
• The NIWE will grant feasibility and techno-commercial support to SJVN Ltd to attain the objective framed under the MoU.
• Both the entities will jointly prepare detailed project reports, frame estimations and bid documents to develop each project of SJVN Ltd.
• The SJVN Ltd and NIWE will jointly take efforts to attain GOI’s target to achieve 175 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by the year 2022 and 450 gigawatts of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030.
• The partnership will also lead to achieving the Shared vision of SJVN, of becoming a 25000 MW Company by 2040.
