Current Context: The Agritech Challenge 2021 was launched by United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in partnership with the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Rabo Foundation, International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and Bayer.
Agritech Challenge 2021
  • The Agritech Challenge 2021 was launched to tackle challenges and issues faced by smallholder farmers communities in Asia and African regions.
  • The challenge will help to enhance the agritech and Agri fintech sectors.
  • The challenge will be executed in selected 7 countries from Southeast Asia and Africa regions.
  • The countries from Africa are Uganda, Zambia, Malawi and Kenya. The countries from Asia are India, Indonesia and Malaysia.
  • The challenges associated with productivity, climate change and supply chain will be addressed and solved through this agritech challenge 2021.
  • The digital transformation will be used as a key enabler to drive recovery and resilience.
  • The applications from the start-ups who are having solutions to the challenges faced by the smallholder farmers community are invited and from those 20 applications will be selected.
