- The partnership was made to boost to exports of agricultural produce from Ladakh.
- For this, the Defence Institute of High-Altitude Research (DIHAR) is also working to frame comprehensive plan of actions to enhance exports of agricultural produce from the UT.
- Thus the objective of the partnership will be executed by DIHAR, Officials from the agriculture and horticulture department of UT, Sher-e Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu and other entrepreneurs.
- The other moto of this partnership is to make UT organic by 2025.
- They will work to enhance the production of fruits enriched with vitamins and medicinal values, apricot etc.
- This will also help to enhance the capacity building of farmers and value-added products in the UT.
- The APEDA will offer assistance for branding and promotion activities of the produces.
- The officials from the department will form an organic study group to frame organic certification documents and implement the certificates for the produces in a phased manner.
- The technological support from DIHAR will help farmers to cultivate leafy vegies at –(minus) 25 degrees Celsius.
