DRDO successfully Tested MPATGM

Current Context: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight tested indigenously developed ‘Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM)’.

• The missile was launched from a man-portable launcher which was linked with a thermal site.
• The missile successfully hit the target and destroyed it in direct attack mode. The flight test was performed with the minimum range and the mission objectives were attained. For the maximum range, the missile was already tested.
• The MPATGM is built with a state-of-the-art Miniaturized Infrared Imaging Seeker and advanced avionics. It is a low weight, fire and forgets missile.
• The missile will thus boost up the Indian Army’s combat capabilities in the future.
