  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has projected that India’s economic growth to be at 10% for FY2021-22 (FY22). Earlier this was estimated at 11%. The lowered GDP growth forecast is due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy of the country.

  • ‘Dairy Investment Accelerator’: It is set up by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), GOI to offer a platform and promotion mechanism for facilitating investments in the Indian Dairy Sector. It is set up under DAHD’s Investment Facilitation Cell. It will offer specific inputs for evaluation of investment opportunities, address queries about the application to govt. schemes, offer connectivity with strategic partners and on-ground assistance with state departments & relevant authorities.

  • The successful trial of train movement between Jaynagar in India and Kurtha in Nepal was taken. It is the 34.50 km long rail section. And it is the first section of the rail line links between India and Nepal which offers connectivity between Jaynagar in Madhubani district of Bihar to Kurtha in Mahottari district of Nepal. The total cost of this section is 619 crore.
  • The Maharashtra Government in partnership with LegitDoc will implement the world’s largest blockchain-based educational credentialing mechanism. It will issue tamper-proof digital certificates of diplomas through blockchain technology. And due to this, Maharashtra has become 1st state in India to have blockchain mechanism technology for educational documents. And in this regard, India has become 4th nation to do so after Malta, Singapore and Bahrain. The initiative was taken by Maharashtra’s Skill Development Board. This initiative will reduce cases of fake certifications.
