IAHE signed Pact with University of New South Wales, Australia

Current Context: The entity under Ministry of Road Transport and Highways called Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE) has signed a pact with the University of New South Wales, Australia.

• The pact was signed to set up the Centre for Advanced Transportation Technology and Systems (CATTS). It will be setup in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
• Under this pact, CATTS will be a Centre of Excellence (CoE) which will promote industries and startups of the transport sector from both nations.
• It will be the platform which will grant opportunities for innovation, research and development of advanced transport systems.
• The entities will jointly work or a project for capacity building, technology, developing adaptive environment for centre for Advanced Transportation Technology and Systems in, IAHE.
• Also, University of New South Wales (UNSW) will help to frame and deliver a course for smart transport systems.
• The entities will work to improve road safety.
• The CATTS will build India specific Macro Model (Computable Equilibrium Model) for National Highway network. It will also build India specific Urban Pervasive Data Model for City by UNSW which will include coding of simulation software, calibration & validation and scenario analysis.
