‘Mathru Kavacham’ Campaign-- Kerala

Current Context: The Government of Kerala will be launching the 'Mathru Kavacham' Campaign.

• The campaign aims to provide vaccinations against COVID-19 to all pregnant women in the state.
• The announcement for the same was made by the Health Minister of the state, Veena George.
• Under this campaign, all pregnant women will be registered for vaccination at the ward level. The registration will be undertaken by ASHA workers.
• Also, registration on their own is also encouraged by the state government.
• The campaign and the ASHA workers working for the campaign will ensure that all pregnant women in each sub-centre area are registered and vaccinated.
• Also, the vaccination drives for pregnant women will be conducted on special days at the district level.
• The state government assured to make proper preventive arrangements for the vaccination drives in order to avoid contact with others who come for vaccination.
