Current Context: The Ministry of Tourism has entered into MoU with Yatra.
Ministry of Tourism signed MoU with Yatra
  • The MoU was signed to enhance and strengthen the tourism and hospitality industry sector.
  • The MoU was signed during the event organised by the Ministry of Tourism and the Quality Council of India (QCI).
  • In order to enhance the tourism sector, the MoU will provide support for accommodation units.
  • Both the entities will work on the System for Assessment, Awareness & Training for the Hospitality Industry (SAATHI) on the Online Travel Agency Platform (OTA). The SAATHI is an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism in partnership with the Quality Council of India.
  • The MoU will allow the entities to boost up the Units to register themselves on NIDHI and SAATHI platforms which will enhance the local tourism industry with the proper safeguard rules during the pandemic situation.
  • They will take necessary steps to encourage and promote strategic and technical co-operation in the Indian hospitality & tourism sector.
