Current Context: The NABARD has sanctioned a loan to Goa under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

  • The NABARD has sanctioned Rs 2891.15 lakh as a loan amount to the state government.
  • The loan amount was sanctioned for ‘Construction of Phase II Building of Goa Dental College and Hospital, Bambolim, Goa’.
  • This will help to improve health standards in the state.
  • The RIDF was set up in 1995-96 by GOI. It grants low-cost financial assistance to state governments and state-owned corporations. With this support, the state government can improve the infrastructure, agriculture, social sector and rural sector etc. of the state. The RIDF is maintained by NABARD.
