Current Context: The first-ever G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment was held in a hybrid format in Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy.

• The Indian delegation was led by Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani.
• At the conference, she highlighted India’s commitment towards maintaining gender equality and resolving women-centric issues through mutual cooperation.
