Current Context: The Union Minister of State (IC) of Ministry of Science and Technology Jitendra Singh released ‘Biotech-PRIDE Guidelines’.
‘Biotech-PRIDE Guidelines’
  • The ‘PRIDE’ signifies: Promotion of Research and Innovation through Data Exchange.
  • The guidelines for ‘Biotech-PRIDE are developed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology (DBT).
  • The guidelines will be implemented by the Indian Biological Data Centre (IBDC) at Regional Centre or Biotechnology which is supported by DBT.
  • The ‘Biotech-PRIDE’ is the first of its kind by DBT as the guidelines framed for it are very useful to allow data sharing for research activities in India.
  • The guidelines will allow to promote scientific work and make progress by building these works.
  • The guidelines will allow sharing of biological knowledge, data to have research iand innovative activities in India.
  • The ‘Biotech-PRIDE Guidelines’ will help to have proper usage of resources and expenditure, thus avoiding the waste of resources or amount.
  • The union minister also launched the website of IBDC.
