‘Operation Blue Freedom’

Current Context: The pioneering world record expedition named ‘Operation Blue Freedom’ was flagged off by Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar.

• The expedition was flagged off from Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.
• It consists of a team of people with disabilities who will reach Siachen Glacier under the expedition.
• Upon reaching the Siachen Glacier, the team will attain a new World Record, for the largest team of people with disabilities reaching the world’s highest battlefield.
• The team members went through various training by ‘Team CLAW’, which is a team of Armed Forces veterans.
• The team went through the training at Leh (Stage 1), Siachen base camp (Stage 2) and North Pullu (Stage 3) before getting inducted into the expedition.
