‘PM-DAKSH’ Portal and Mobile App

Current Context: The Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar launched the ‘PM-DAKSH’ portal and mobile app.

• The ‘PM-DAKSH’ portal and mobile app will provide easy access to the skill development schemes to the target groups.
• The significance of PM-DAKSH is: Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi (PM-DAKSH) Yojana.
• The link for the portal is: http://pmdaksh.dosje.gov.in.
• The portal and app is developed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and National E-Governance Division (NeGD) which comes under the Electronics And Information Technology department.
• The trainings under the scheme will be provided by Government Training Institutes, Sector Skill Councils and other institutions.
• Through the portal and app, the beneficiaries will be able to avail information about trainings which are being conducted near to their locality.
• The beneficiaries will also be able to register themselves through the portal or app to attend the training.
• The beneficiaries for this scheme are the target group which consists of Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Safai Karamcharis.
• Various skill development programmes like Upskilling/Re-skilling, short term and long term Training Programme, Entrepreneurship Development Program will be conducted under the scheme.
