Current Context: The Navies of India and UAE participated in ‘Zayed Talwar Exercise 2021’.
‘Zayed Talwar Exercise 2021’
  • It is the bilateral naval exercise that was conducted off the coast of Abu Dhabi.
  • The exercise aims to boost interoperability and synergy between India and UAE.
  • India was represented by INS Kochi, Sea King MK 42B helicopters.
  • UAE was represented by AES Al – Dhafra, which is a Baynunah class guided missile corvette and AS – 565B Panther helicopter.
  • Under the naval exercise, both the navies undertook tactical manoeuvres, over the horizon targeting, search and rescue operations and electronic warfare drills.
  • The helicopters performed search and rescue operations during the military drill and passing of targeting data to ships for simulated missile engagement drills.
