Agricultural Ministry signed MoUs with Private Companies

Current Context: The Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare signed five MoUs with the private companies.

• The MoUs were signed with: CISCO, ITC Limited, Ninjacart, Jio Platforms Limited, and NCDEX e-markets Limited (NeML).
• (a) MoU with Jio Platforms Limited: It was signed to conduct a pilot project to provide advisories for farmers in the Jalna & Nasik districts of Maharashtra.
• (b) MoU with ITC Limited: It was signed to build a Customized Site-Specific Crop Advisory service. This will be implemented in the Sehore and Vidisha districts of Madhya Pradesh. It will prove beneficial in Wheat crop operations.
• (c) MoU with Cisco: It was signed to frame conceptualize the Proof of Concept in ineffective knowledge sharing among farmers, administration, academia, and industry in the regions of Kaithal district of Haryana and Morena district of Madhya Pradesh.
• (d) MoU with NCDEX e Markets Limited (NeML): It was signed for framing services like Market Linkages, Financial Linkages, Aggregation of demand, and Data Sanitization in Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), Nasik (Maharashtra), and Devanagere (Karnataka).
• (e) MoU with Ninjacart: It will help to develop and host Agri Marketplace Platform (AMP). It will be executed in Anand (Gujarat), Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh), and Indore (Madhya Pradesh).
