18th ASEAN-India Economic Ministers Consultations

Current Context: The 18th ASEAN-India Economic Ministers Consultations was held in a virtual manner.

• India was represented by Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.
• The consultation meeting was co-chaired by Anupriya Patel and H.E. Dato Dr. Amin Liew Abdullah, Minister of Finance and Economy, Brunei Darussalam.
• The meeting observed the participation of economic ministers of ASEAN countries.
• The Indian side discussed mass vaccinations, capacity enhancement, and economical initiatives to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.
• India also highlighted the reforms taken in the sectors like agriculture, insurance, logistics, etc.
• The dignitaries discussed ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement.
• The dignitaries discussed enhancing partnership in ASEAN India by making investments in the health and pharma sectors.
