Current Context: The ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ was launched by PM Narendra Modi via video conference.

• The mission is also known as the National Digital Health Mission (NDHM).
• It will be implemented in pilot phases in 6 UTs.
• The mission aims to develop an online platform by delivering data, infrastructure services, duly leveraging open, interoperable, standards-based digital systems.
