‘Samudra Shakti’

Current Context: The Navies of India and Indonesia held the ‘Samudra Shakti’ Bilateral Exercise.

• This was the third edition of the ‘Samudra Shakti’.
• India was represented by INS Shivalik and Kadmatt which reached Jakarta, Indonesia. India’s Aircraft P8I also participated in the exercise.
• The 3rd ‘Samudra Shakti’ exercise was held at Sunda Strait, Indonesia.
• The exercise helped to boost mutual understanding and interoperability between both the navies of the nations.
• The exercise also helped to enhance maritime security.
• Various tasks like Military Interdiction Operations (MIO), Cross Deck Landings, Air Defence serials, Practice Weapon Firings, Replenishment Approaches, and Tactical Manoeuvres were performed in the exercise.
