Current Context: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced that it has extended the tenure of the Company Law Committee by one year.

• The tenure is extended till 16th Sep 2022.
• The committee is chaired by Rajesh Verma, Corporate affairs secretary.
• The Company Law Committee was framed in 2019 and is comprised of 11 members.
• It works to suggest measures to improve the operation and functioning of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
• It suggests recommendations on the issues related to the implementation of the Companies Act and Limited Liability Partnership Act.
