Current Context: The Ministry of road, transport & Highway launched the ‘Good Samaritans’ Scheme.
'Good Samaritans'-- Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways
  • The scheme will be executed from 15th Oct 2021 to 31st March 2026.
  • Under the scheme, the cash of Rs 5000 will be given to those who save the life of a road accident victim by rushing him/her to the hospital within the 'golden hour' of the mishap.
  • The scheme is launched to motivate people to help the road accident victims and save their life by rushing to the hospital for their treatment.
  • Along with the cash, certification of appreciation will also be awarded.
  • Also, the ministry will be giving 10 national-level awards for the ‘worthiest Good Samaritans’.
  • The Most Worthy Good Samaritans will be those who have been awarded during the entire year and the selection from them will be made for the award of Rs 1,00,000 each.
