Current Context: The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma launched ‘Mission Basundhara’.
‘Mission Basundhara’-- Assam
  • It was launched at the event which was organized by the Revenue and Disaster Management department in Guwahati, Assam.
  • The mission aims to streamline land revenue services.
  • It also aims to grant easy access to the public for their land-related work.
  • The mission will ensure that the public receives their secured land rights in an efficient manner.
  • The focus of the mission will be on poor and disadvantaged sections of the society and will ensure that this section of the society gets its secured land rights.
  • The mission will eradicate the middleman linkage from the system of securing land rights.
  • It will reduce the unnecessary visits to government offices and empower the public to resolve land-related issues in an online manner thus offering them a hassle-free service.
  • Around Rs, 225 crores will be spent on the mission.
  • The Mission Basundhara will also help to update the land records in the state.
