Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Italy to participate in 16th G20 Summit.
16th G20 Summit
  • The summit was held in Rome, Italy.
  • At the summit, G20 leaders adopted Rome Declaration.
  • The leaders assured to achieve climate goals. They have identified sustainable and responsible consumption and production along with finance and technology to attain climate goals.
  • At the summit, PM Modi invited G20 Countries to make partnerships with India for economic recovery and supply chain diversification.
  • The G20 leaders also assured to remain committed to the Paris Agreement goal and will work to keep global average temperature increase well below 2 degrees Celsius and pursue the efforts of limiting it to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
  • The summit was held under the theme of People, Planet and Prosperity.
