  • The central government has promulgated two ordinances that describe an extension of the tenure of Directors of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for up to five years. Currently, the ED and CBI Directors serve the post for the tenure of 2 years.
  • Niramay Gujarat Scheme: It is the healthcare scheme of Gujarat which was launched by CM, Bhupendra Patel. The scheme aims to protect the state’s people over 30 years from non-communicable diseases infections. Under the scheme, the people will be offered free medical health check-ups at the healthcare centers and diagnosed suppose from non-communicable diseases.

  • RBI has projected the CPI inflation at 5.3% for 2021-22. As per the data, due to the increase in food prices, India’s retail inflation rate which is calculated by CPI has raised in Oct 2021 to 4.48% year-on-year from 4.35% in Sep 2021. The inflation rate for Consumer Food Price Index has raised to 0.85% in Oct 2021 from 0.68% in Sep 2021.
  • The mobile app for ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was launched by the Ministry of Culture. The app will offer access to celebrations of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. It was launched by Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for Culture.
