Current Context: The SITMEX–21, which is the Trilateral Maritime Exercise has commenced in the Andaman Sea.
SITMEX–21
  • This is the third edition of the exercise.
  • The SITMEX is conducted among the Navies of India, Singapore, and Thailand.
  • India is represented by the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Karmuk, which is an indigenously built Missile Corvette.
  • The Royal Thai Navy is hosting the third edition of the exercise.
  • The SITMEX–21 aims to enhance the cooperation among the navies of India, Singapore, and Thailand.
  • It will also boost maritime security in the region.
  • The first edition of the exercise was held in 2019.
