SBI signed MoU with PONLAIT

Current Context: The State Bank of India signed MoU with Puducherry Cooperative Milk Producers Union (PONLAIT).

• The MoU was signed to offer loan support to individual dairy farmers.
• The loan will be disbursed under the SAFAL (simple and fast agriculture loan) scheme of SBI.
• The loans upto Rs 3 lakhs will be given to the dairy farmers.
• The Chennai circle of SBI which is comprised of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will disburse the loan under the YONO application.
• Around 3,500 dairy farmers of PONLAIT will be benefited from the partnership.
