Current Context: India and the Gambia have signed two agreements to enhance their bilateral relations.

  • The agreements were signed as Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan recently visited the Gambia.
  • The agreements include: (a) Exemption from Visa Requirement for Holders of Diplomatic and Official Passports (b) General Framework Agreement for Cooperation between both the countries.
  • Also, the request by the Gambia for procuring the dialysis machine was also approved by a repurposing grant of USD 5,00,000.
