40th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2021

Current Context: The 40th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2021 was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.

• The IITF 2021 was organized by India Trade Promotion Organization.
• The theme of the event was ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and to promote ‘Vocal for Local’.
• Around 3000 exhibitors participated in the exhibition.
• At the event, Union Minister Piyush Goyal mentioned the 5 pillars of the Indian economy namely Economy, Exports, Demand, Infrastructure, and Diversity.
• Bihar was the partner state of 40th IITF and the focus states were Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
• The Bihar pavilion won the gold medal for showcasing the state’s richness in art and handicrafts.
• The Silver medal was won by the Assam pavilion.
