Current Context: India is among the top three dope violators countries in the world, as per the report released by World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada).

• For 152 times, the Indian athletes were involved in dope-related activities in the year 2019.
• The report is topped by Russia with 162 number times involvement in dope-related activities.
• The second position is marked by Italy with 157 number times involvement in dope-related activities.
• As per the report, 152 Anti-doping Rule Violations i.e. 17% of the total in world cases were reported from India.
• As per the report, a total of 278,047 samples was collected by Anti-Doping Organisations worldwide in 201.
• Of these total samples, 2,701 were reported as Adverse Analytical Findings.
• And till Jan 2021, 1,535 samples were confirmed as ADRVs (sanctions).
