India Skills Report 2022

Current Context: The India Skills Report (ISR) 2022 was released by Wheebox, which is a talent assessment platform, in association with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), and other agencies.
India Skills Report 2022
  • As per the report, India's employability is improved to 46.2% from 45.97% i.e. at the marginal rate. It also defines that the gender gap in employability is also improved with the women's employable pool constantly increasing.
  • The report reveals that a higher percentage of women than men are found to be employable in India.
  • The sectors like IT, pharmaceutical, e-commerce, and banking, financial services, and insurance will hire 20% more fresh graduates in 2022 than in 2021.
  • As per the report, Maharashtra has acquired the top position in the report having the highest employable talents with an employability of 66.1%.
  • The 2nd and 3rd positions are attained by Uttar Pradesh and Kerala respectively.
  • Theme of ISR 2022: Reengineering Education and Skilling-Building for Future of Work.
  • Cities that attained positions in the report are: Pune (78.11% employability), Lucknow (74.32% employability), Trivandrum (66.48% employability).
