NGDRS and Banadhikar App

Current Context: The Tripura government launched National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) and BanAdhikar App.

• The NGDRS will be used for the registration of land documents.
• The BanAdhikar App is a GPS-based mobile app that will be used for forest patta land demarcation.
• The app and NGDRS were inaugurated by Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh in a virtual manner in the presence of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Revenue Minister N C Debbarma.
• Both the initiatives will bring a positive impact on land-related facilities for the state’s people.
• These initiatives will give land rights of the tribal patta holders under the Forest Rights Act.
• Thus, the forest rights for Scheduled Tribes and traditional forest dwellers will be protected
• The majority of land disputes will be reduced due to these initiatives.
