Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Kanpur Metro Rail Project and Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project.
PM Modi inaugurated Kanpur Metro Rail Project
  • Along with this, he also attended the 54th Convocation Ceremony at IIT Kanpur.
  • Kanpur Metro Rail Project: He inaugurated a 9 km-long corridor-I of the project part which is extended from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel which is comprised of 9 elevated stations. The 9 stations are certified with a platinum rating of Green Building Council. The length of the entire project is approx. 32 km, comprising 2 corridors. It will have 30 stations in Kanpur. The total cost of the project is approx. Rs 11076 crore.
  • Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project: It is 356 km long and is built with funds of Rs 1524 crore. It is stretched from Bina in Madhya Pradesh to Panki in Uttar Pradesh.
