PM Modi Laid Foundation Stone for Projects in Dehradun

Current Context: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of multiple projects in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.

• The project's worth price is Rs 18000 crore.
• He inaugurated 7 projects worth Rs 2573 crore and laid the foundation stone for 11 projects worth Rs 15728 crore.
• He laid the foundation stone for Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor which will be constructed for Rs 8,300 crore. The corridor will reduce the travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to 2.5 hours from 6 hours
• The corridor will have 7 interchanges for connectivity to Haridwar, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Yamunanagar, Baghpat, Meerut, and Baraut.
• It will also have Asia's largest wildlife elevated corridor for unrestricted wildlife movement.
• The Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, connecting Halgoa, Saharanpur to Bhadrabad, Haridwar will be constructed. It will be built at the cost of Rs 2,000 crore.
• Haridwar Ring Road Project will be constructed at the cost of Rs 1600 crore which will be built between Manoharpur and Kangri
• The Dehradun - Paonta Sahib (Himachal Pradesh) road project will also help to reduce travel time and will be constructed at the cost of Rs 1700 crore.
• The Child-Friendly City Project in Dehradun will be developed which will make city child friendly by granting safe roads for travel
• The Medical College in Haridwar will also be developed at the cost of Rs 500 crore
